cedar falls overlook

Barker Landscape Architects was selected to renovate a dilapidated trail and overlook for Seattle Public Utilities Cedar River Watershed property. Nestled within the exiting landscape, the new overlook is designed to accommodate groups of adults and children touring the watershed. Boulder cladding make it resilient to seasonal high water. The railing features custom designs referencing old tresses found on site and a native basket weave pattern signifying salmon. This is a sacred site for the Snoqualmie Tribe. Brenda assembled design and construction documents for the project, and provided detailed design for railing features. She also provided construction administration for Forest Gardens, the joint company who implemented the project.
