kirkland Residence

Perched along a slope fronting a ravine, this Kirkland residence has issues with a soggy lawn and standing water along the north side of the house. This design resolves the drainage issue by collecting excess water and diverting it to a bioretention planter; utilizing drainage as a design feature. Other aims of the design include creating more level lawn areas for outdoor use through the installation of short retaining walls, creating a fenced area for pets as well as creating a garden space which enhances habitat for pollinators.
